My personal long term structure will probably be an A frame but yurts can be a simple way for us to have individual dwellings quickly.

Yurts are definitely an option.

I'm probably going to invest in a large canvas tent at first. Another option is turning those storage sheds from Home Depot into a dwelling by trying to insulate it and installing a wood burning stove.

You can get the kits for cheap(ish), Im just unsure how they would hold up through winter.

ABS plastic tubing and some tarps. That's my starter house.Turn it into a greenhouse after I have a more permanent structure.
